Shaping Our Lives set up four development projects in the year 2000 to test out the findings that came out of its initial research on user perspectives on outcomes.
These four projects were based with the following groups:
Members of these groups have been meeting over a period of time to assess and evaluate outcomes in their lives, and to try to achieve new outcomes.
Shaping Our lives has clearly shown the potential impact of user involvement on the services they use. The report gives a clear insight into the lives of social care service users and the issues that they see as important in relation to the services that they use in a way that could only be achieved by a project controlled by service users.
A report of the project titled ‘Shaping Our Lives from outset to outcome’ is now available. Contact us if you would like a copy.
