Roundtable discussion on easy read information about health for people with a learning disability – 24th March, London

This roundtable discussion will have people from the voluntary sector, people with a learning disability, and people from the NHS.UK team from NHS Digital, NHS England and NHS Improvement.  We would like to discuss how we can work together to make sure people with a learning disability get the information they need, rather than discuss what makes ‘good’ easy read (background reading- Guide to Making Information Accessible for People with a Learning Disability).

In the discussion we hope to

  • Highlight areas where people with a learning disability can’t get information easily.
  • Think about the next steps for NHS Digital in signposting and/or creating relevant easy read for NHS.UK
  • Support the voluntary sector to think about how they could work with the NHS to fill the gap for high quality information for people with a learning disability.
